Cleaner water faster Hot Tub Works recommends that you change your spa filter at least one time a year!
A fresh hot tub filter helps protect your health AND your pocketbook. Who wants to buy replacement spa parts when that money could be saved (or, better yet, spent on fun hot tub accessories?). Dirty hot tub filters can even void your warranty. So, it pays to check your spa filter once or twice monthly.
If your spa filter is more than two years old, you should toss it no matter how it may look. This is because your hot tub filter is made of a fibrous material that gradually loosens over time creating ever-larger spaces for particles to push through and gunk up your pump. It pays to be ruthless on this one. Hot tub pumps are way more expensive than spa filters. Consider it a law: two years and it's hastta la vista, baby!
The Benefits of Pleatco’s Flow Core Technology Another Pleatco Filter advantage is the Flow Core Technology found only in Pleatco Filter Cartridges. Typical filter cartridge cores consist of flow-inhibiting PVC that features holes drilled into it for the water to pass through. By substituting PVC with Pleatco’s Advanced Point Bonded Filtration Fabric water can flow throughout the entire cartridge creating less strain on your pump. This ultimately saves on energy use that not only extends the lifespan of your equipment, but saves you money in utility usage all while remaining more environmentally friendly. The Best Filter Media By A Landslide! PLEATCO’s ADVANCED POOL 4oz Point Bonded Filtration Fabric is constructed with the highest volume filtration fibers per unit than any other filter media. This allows it to hold significantly more dirt and debris than its closest competition.
The smaller pore size also gives the filtration fabric an unparalleled turbidity reduction thanks to its one-of-kind cross filtration flow giving it the ability to collect the smallest of dirt particles for a deeper, more thorough degree of cleanliness and water clarity. Thanks to strategically placed weld spots, Pleatco’s Point-bonded fabrics are durable and tough, making it good as new after you clean it offering you longer cycles and usage from a single cartridge. Pleatco filtration media not only filters better, it lasts longer which saves you money. Clean Water From The Very Beginning PureStart Cartridges from Pleatco work by easily attaching to a standard garden hose. Whether you are filling your pool or spa for the first time or simply replenishing your water levels, PureStart filters remove dirt and other fine particulates BEFORE they ever have a chance to enter your spa or pool.
The NEW Pleatco PureStart Pre-Filters are innovatively designed to minimalize the issues often found in ground, well or tap water commonly used for topping off or filling pools and spas. These scientifically engineered sediment filter cartridges are disposable and consist of Pleatco’s unique melt-spun filtration technology that creates perfect depth filtration regardless of the size of your pool, spa or hot tub. A spa filter replacement number is a number assigned to your filter by the replacement filter manufacturer.
Confusingly, it is usually NOT the same as the spa manufacturer's part number and the number is often NOT printed into the filter itself. Yes, this is all as dumb as it sounds and if we were in charge of this stuff, the world would be a better place. Most hot tub filters are made by one of three companies: Unicel, Pleatco and Filbur (also sold as Clarathon).
If you have your spa filter's number from any of these manufacturers, please enter the number (example C-1234) in the box marked 2. If you get no results, try entering the number without the prefix (1234).
If you still get no results, no worries. Just use method two, three or four.
The serial number for the the 99-current Hotsprings can be found in the equipment compartment. (where the jet pump and things are located). Always in the front of the spa inside the door panel. Serial number is on a white sticker 3x5 inches. Depending on what you have it might look like this for an example. I-3Axxxx The letter I stands for the model of spa it is.
In this case it is for the SOVEREIGN. The number 3 stands for the quarter of the year it was made in. In this case it was the third quarter. Now the letter A stands for the year it was made in. In this case it is for 1999.
The xxxx indicates just a string of numbers I think its the number of the spa (not sure). The serial number above indicates it's a Sovereign, made in the 3rd quarter of 1999. 1999 is the first year for letters in the serial number. Heres what the years will look like: 1999= A 2000= B 2001= C 2002= D 2003= E 2004= F 2005= G 2006= H 2007= I 2008= J 2009= K 2010= L 2011= M There's only 4 quarters to a year. So that's pretty easy to figure out. 1, 2, 3, and 4. Models of spa are indicated by a letter at the beggining of the serial number.
